You may have noticed that you’re now being charged a sales tax on your Smidge order.
This is because nearly one year ago; the Supreme Court ruled that out-of-state retailers must collect sales tax on internet sales.
Given the federal Supreme Court ruling, Smidge is now required to charge and collect state taxes from customers in individual states where Smidge either has a physical presence (i.e., employees, offices or distribution locations) or where Smidge maintains a significant market based on the number of our sales and transactions with customers (subject to state-specific rules).
We hope this information helps explain the new sales tax, and we thank you for your understanding and support. If you have further questions, we are happy to help.
