We’re happy to share that Smidge® probiotics are freeze-dried, which makes them resilient—even in warmer temperatures. This special process puts the probiotic strains into a state of suspended animation, meaning they remain stable and inactive until they come into contact with moisture.
Each bottle is sealed in non-permeable packaging and includes a moisture-absorbing packet to ensure freshness throughout shipping and everyday use. Testing has shown that even when the product arrives warm (and occasionally hot!), the potency of the probiotics remains intact. This makes the probiotics stable at room temperature for up to two weeks, even during shipping, without compromising quality or potency.
Once your order arrives, we do recommend placing the bottle in the refrigerator right away to maintain long-term freshness. We recommend storing our probiotics on a shelf near the front of the refrigerator for optimal freshness and easy access.
We also offer overnight shipping Monday-Thursday for our probiotics for an extra fee. Please choose which shipping method you prefer during the checkout process when placing your order.
